TEZU, Apr 18:The much awaited 132 KV power line which has been promised several times to be charged is yet to take off leaving residents of Lower Dibang Valley and Lohit districts looking for relief from persistent power crisis quite dejected.

When this scribe enquired about the delay, a high level official from the power department disclosed that Aalo – Pasighat line was already tested which is under state government however Pasighat – Roing is yet to be tested.

As per Power Grid Corporation Indian Limited (PGCIL) reports, the Grid has been constantly pursuing the state government to give approval to test Pasighat – Roing line and according Roing – Tezu line, but the Chief Engineer Eastern Zone is citing further testing of line after full commissioning of Power Grid line at Pasighat thus causing the delay. 

The PGCIL has already received consent from Regional Load Dispatching Centre (RLDC) Shillong to test the lines but the State Load Dispatching Centre (SLDC) Itanagar is reluctant to grant the same.

 “We do not have words to answer the dejected consumers of the both Lower Dibang Valley and Lohit over the inordinate delay of Chief Engineer (Transmission & Distribution) GoAP Itanagar to grant approval to test the lines”, rues the official on anonymity. 

The Power Grid amid tough circumstances and various other natural hurdles was able to complete the High Tension Line within specified time to provide lasting relief to the power crisis in this interior pocket; however bureaucratic hurdles is depriving consumer.
