ITANAGAR, Mar 14: Defending Champions, Gora Makik SC retained its title by defeating Capital Complex FC by penalty shoot out in a nail biting final match of Indrajit Namchoom Arunachal League played today at Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy, Chimpu.
Just like Qualifier-1, Capital Complex FC took the lead in the match through Sandeep Alay in the 73rd minute of the second half. Just few minutes later, substitute striker, Beken Riram of Gora Makik SC scored the equaliser in 78th minute from a corner kick.
GMSC could have won the match in the regulation time but Gyamar Tala couldn't finish the golden opportunity found before the end of second half and eventually match moved to extra time.
Both teams tried their best to get the most needed goal in the extra time but failed to score one.
In the penalty shoot out, GMSC won 4-2 to lift the League trophy for two consecutive years.
Sandeep Alay of CCFC was adjudged best forward of the league. His team mates, Taw Akash and Agano Linggi were declared Best Mid fielder and Best Defender respectively. TT Sunickjee of GMSC won his second consecutive best Goalkeeper award. While, Tapi Hakhe of Todo Utd FC was winner of Highest Scorer award for his 7goals in the league. Tame Agung of GMSC won the Most Valuable Player award for his outstanding performances through out the league.
Match was witnessed by Tadar Appa,Director, Sports and Ramesh Linggi, Director, Youth Affairs along with former players and dignitaries from sports department.
