DURPANG, Jun 9:  In a tragic incident, four people today lost their lives inside a well at Durpang 1 village, Chessa, under Banderdewa circle.
Throwing light on the incident, Superintendent of Police, Capital Complex Tumme Amo informed that the incident occurred at around 10 am today when one Techi Galo  hired one Mani Kumar Deori(37)of  village Jaipur Pichola, Deorigaon, Assam to clean his well. While cleaning, Mani Kr Deori lost consciousness due to insufficient oxygen inside the well.
Witnessing the incident, younger brother of Techi  went inside the well in an attempt to save the man but unfortunately he too fainted. This led Ajay Chakma to venture inside the well to save both men but he also fainted and could not come out. When no response came from inside the well, Ajay's father Sukroraju Chakma also went down but he too lost consciousness.
The SDRF team from Narayanpur, Assam who reached the spot for rescue operation also reported the insufficient presence of oxygen in the well.  Team of Police lead by SP Capital Tumme Amo, OC Banderdewa and SDPO Naharlagun rushed to the spot.
As per report, by 3pm today rescue team were only abled to retrieved two bodies Ajay Chakma  and Sukroraju Chakma with the help of Assam SDRF, Police personnel of Narayanpur PS, police personnel of Chessa Out Post and locals. The bodies of  Techi Kojum and Mani Kumar Deori were recovered late night on Tuesday.
Superintendent of Police Fire & Emergency Service,  NDRF & SDRF teams from  Itanagar also reached and efforts are being made to recover the remaining two bodies. The rescue team is using excavator and has already dug around 20 feet.
The people who were trapped in the well are, Techi Kojum, 24, Village Chessa, Mani Kumar Deori, 37-Village Jaipur Pichola,Deorigaon, Assam, Ajay Chakma, 28,Kokila No. 1, Sukroraju Chakma, 48, Kokila No.1,Po/PS  Balijan. UD case has been registered at Banderdewa Police station for further legal actions, informed SP Capital Tumme Amo.
