ITANAGAR, Nov 15: The Itanagar Municipal Council is organizing various community mobilization events to mark the World Toilet day on November 19. Events like door to door household outreach by Self Help Groups and NGOs will culminate on that day, informed Deputy Commissioner Itanagar Capital Complex Prince Dhawan. 
The IMC will also organise awareness drive through a 'shramdaan' rally at Naharlagun on November 19.
Various essay writing competitions, wall painting events, etc will also be held for the students of schools and colleges on the day.
Outreach to local community will also be done through social media where citizens can vote for best performing sanitation workers. 
The United Nations observes World Toilet Day on November 19 each year. This year's theme is 'When Nature Calls'. It focuses on compost latrines to treat human waste and human made wetlands to treat waste water.
