ITANAGAR, Jun 4: The Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) Mayor Tamme Phasssang will be attending the third national summit of the Resident Welfare Association (RWA) with the main objective to discuss the role of RWA in water and waste management.
The summit is organized by the Confederation of Resident Welfare Associations-UP (CoRWA-UP) in association with Flat Owners Federation Ghaziabad and Green Society of India to be held on June 7 at India Expo Centre, Knowledge Park II, Greater Noida, UP.
The theme of the summit is “Waste & Water Management”. Out of all the Mayors in India, only 15 Mayors are invited for the summit and Mayor of Itanagar is among them. There will be two sessions in All India Mayors & RWAs SUMMIT, 2024.
Mayor Tamme Phassang, will preside over the topics on water management and deliberate on waste management.  
Professional, leaders, industry experts, decision makers, delegates, central and state government departments, public sector units, private sector companies, municipal bodies, development authorities are being invited to this summit.
The thrust of this Summit would be on promoting a new urban cosmopolitan culture in which RWAs would seek empowerment from the government and play an important role in improving the quality of life of their residents by building smart, efficient, and caring communities.
The objective of the summit is to bring together RWA's, municipalities, development authorities, Housing boards, government agencies and waste management companies on single platform to deliberate on waste management, plastic waste recycling, e-waste recycling, municipal solid waste management through sanitary landfills and regulatory framework.
Water Management through metering of underground water extracted by high-rise societies, builders & commercial enterprises.  Checking water pollution of surface water & underground water with the active cooperation of civil societies.
The consensus decisions taken at this conference will be forwarded to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Govt. of India & Urban Ministries of different states.
