ITANAGAR, Sep 18: The Deputy Commissioner, Itanagar Capital Complex –cum- Administrator , Itanagar Municipal Council Prince Dhawan inaugurated the launching of digital payment system under Itanagar Municipal Council and also launched the POS System for Civil Aviation which will promote easy access to passengers.

While inaugurating the digital payment at IMC, the DC stated that citizens can now make their payments for trading licence, Birth and Death certificates etc through Point of Sale system (POS), BHIM Apps, BHIM QR and Aadhaar Pay.

He hoped that with the introduction of this cashless mode of transaction, citizens would now be benefitted in terms of saving time for cash payment. They can conduct transactions by sitting at home in a time bound target with due consultation to concerned departments. Moreover, the system will also ensure transparency and accountability, he stressed. 

The DC further informed that trade license payments were also made through POS and Aadhaar enabled payment at IMC.

Further, the DC informed that the Capital Administration will also strive for promotion of this high tech practice to ensure transparent, timely and error free transactions even in payment of water and electricity charges by the capital dwellers.

While inaugurating the Point of Sale (PoS) machine at ticket counter of Civil Aviation, the DC lauded the initiative taken by the department and urged them to adopt various other digital payments options such as BHIM QR Code, Aadhaar Pay, UPI and online booking etc. A demonstration of Helicopter ticket booking by swiping the debit card on PoS machine was also done on the spot. 

Among others, the Director of Civil Aviation T Messar and EAC Itanagar Hengo Basar were present.
