ITANAGAR, Mar 23: In view of the rising cases of Covid-19 in the country, the Indian Medical Association Arunachal branch (IMA-AP) under the leadership of its President Dr.Lobsang Tsetim has formed the ‘IMA Arunachal Covid-19 Task Force’ after an emergency meeting convened here at the Heema Hospital on March 22 last.
Its press statement, IMA-AP stated that the same task force is already engaged in assisting the Covid-19 Control Room of the state government. The task force has already intercepted more than 100 students/travellers coming from the endemic zones in last 2 days with necessary counselling for home quarantine, dos and don’ts at home etc., the release informed. While appreciating the lock down in state to break the chain of the pandemic, IMA-AP has also the urged the state government to come out with clear-cut standard operating protocols for control and management of various stages of Covid-19 and ensure adequate supply of Personal Protection Equipment(PPE) to the health workers. We urge the people of the state to maintain social distancing, ensure personal protection and hygiene and our appeal also goes out to all the students and travellers coming from outside to quarantine themselves at home for the mandatory 14-day period, the release read. The association has further appealed the citizens to share the names of such students or parents of the students /travellers along with their contact numbers through the helpline numbers. It has also requested the state government to defer the APPSC exam and all upcoming festivals.
