PASIGHAT, Oct 22: In view of rising influx of outsiders here in the township without valid Inner Line Permit (ILP), Deputy Commissioner, East Siang district, Dr. Kinny Singh has directed the magistrates and police to conduct intensified ILP checking drive.
DC also directed the Executive Magistrates to conduct hearing of the detected violators on the spot and pass necessary orders as deemed fit under the provisions of BEFR 1873. They should ensure that anybody who is not a bona fide resident of Arunachal Pradesh must have a valid ILP to enter the state, the order read. Meanwhile, magistrates and police on duty penalized and issued temporary ILP to 143 violators and realized about forty thousand rupees in the process.
Extending help to the visitors, District Administration has set up a temporary ILP issuing counter at the 2-Mile check gate and the process of ILP checking will continue and offenders failing to produce valid documents will be deported from East Siang jurisdiction, official sources added. DIPRO
