NAMSAI, Feb 12: The ICAR -National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) Eastern Regional Station (ERS) in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra Namsai organized daylong Livestock Development Programme and training for villagers at KVK , Namsai today.
Team of Scientist from ICAR-NDRI imparted awareness and training to the farmers on livestock, dairy development and others.
Speaking to media, Chief Guest Colonel Assam Regiment, Ivan Singh informed that such programme is helpful for the farmers where they can gain knowledge about how to get benefits with the resources available with them.
‘Farmers are the backbone of the country, so first of all, they need proper support from the government both financially and practically,' he said.
During this programme farmers will gain knowledge about loan available through NABARD and other banks as well as training on livestock.
Speaking on the the occasion, Head of KVK Namsai, Dr. Maish Kanwat informed that as a part of the training KVK will distribute livestock like piglet, hybrid birds and other animals to farmers with proper training.
