ITANAGAR, Feb 21:In the wake of reported physical attack on Chief Secretary, Delhi by the elected legislators recently, the Indian Administrative service ((IAS), fraternity in the state has strongly condemned the incident, citing it as an undignified act.

“This calls into question the harmonious relationship between the civil service officer and   elected wing of the government of Delhi and will lead to impairment of the effective function of the bureaucracy in free and impartial manner,” it said in a release.

It also alleged that such behavior of the elected representatives with the head of bureaucracy amount to threat to life and physical safety of a public servant on duty and should be meted with severe action.

Asserting that the incident took place at the official residence of Chief Minister, Delhi, the fraternity while extending full solidarity with the CS has stated that if no action is taken against the perpetrators then it will erode the moral of hardworking civil servants.
