ITANAGAR, May 3: On Sunday, as part of the goodwill gesture and appreciation  towards the Coronavirus warriors for their dedication in rendering selfless service to the people of Arunachal Pradesh and the Nation, an Indian Air Force helicopter flew-past over Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences & Hospital, Naharlagun, one of the designated COVID-19 Hospital of the State and showered flower petals on healthcare workers.
The flypast was a goodwill event by the Tri-Services to honour doctors, paramedics, sanitation staff, police and other frontline workers battling the Coronavirus pandemic.
Large number of medical officials and people from all walks of life witnessed the heart warming fly-past.
The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) commended the goodwill gesture of the Indian Armed Forces. He said that this goodwill gesture will definitely motivate the Corona Warriors of the State in the fight against the virus.
We are overwhelmed by the unparalleled gesture of the Indian Air Force, said Director TRIHMS Moji Jini. Such gesture during a pandemic and when the whole health fraternity is overburdened gives us strength and motivation to confer our duties with renewed vigour, added the Director.
Expressing solidarity with family members of health workers who lost their loved ones due to the pandemic, Dr. Jini stated ‘There are many who have sacrificed their lives for others and to protect the citizens from the virus but there are some people who are indulging in assaulting the health workers. We are here for the service of citizens and the nation, so that this pandemic shouldn’t take more lives and make our country free from  COVID-19,' while appealing people to maintain all standard operating procedures issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
