Jago Grahak Jago

ITANAGAR, Mar 19: Hundreds traversing all age groups today participated in the mini marathon held in the capital complex from Indira Gandhi Park, Itanagar to Rajiv Gandhi stadium, Naharlagun covering a distance of 10.5 kilometres. Of the more than 400 who registered, three hundred participated in the race while two hundred eighty completed the race.

The 2nd edition mini marathon organised by Department of Legal Metrology and Consumer Affairs was flagged off by EAC Talom Dupak and SDPO Make Bui while prizes were given away by senior journalist Pradeep Kumar, LMCA Controller Hoktum Ori, ACLM Taba Tabin and others at the end of the event.

Speaking at both venues, all the speakers highlighted about consumer awareness and encouraged the youths on consumer rights and purpose of MRP/cash memo/ consumer redressal system while also impressing the gathering to avail assistance from the consumer court located in the state capital.

In men’s category Mudang Omo (128), Bamo Tandang (331), Karbu Kena (353) reached first, second and third respectively and Hilang Ruth (102), Yabang Tali  (115), Nabam Yakar (165) were first, second and third respectively in the women’s category. 

The consolation prizes went to Bomjo Kena (214), Tarh Tame (216), Rakesh Jomyang (240), Anando Menjo (425), Gollo Joshep (235) in men’s category while Dare Rungchi (106), Soni Nalo (150) Yaro Haying (158), Rupa Bayor (188), Muni Leya (160) received consolation prizes in women’s category.

The consolation prizes for different category were also given away to youngest person Master Tassar Tani 14 year, student of Class V of Pachin Secondary School and Gollo Takam, 15 year (Student) of G Sector, Naharlagun and Associate Professor of RGU Kago Gambo being the oldest person to run for the ‘Jago Grahak Jago’ initiative.
