3rd Bharat Lok Sangeet Arunachal Utsav connects with youth
ITANAGAR, Nov 2: Hundreds of members from All Bori Students Union (ABSU), Siang District Students Union (SDSU) and general public of Payum circle held a peaceful rally as a mark of protest against Dihang Dibang biosphere reserve forest and Mouling National Park at Kaying.
In a press statement issued here today, ABSU said that the protest was held due to the inclusion of forest and land of Payum circle under Dihang Dibang Biosphere Reserve Forest and Mouling National Park without the consent of its natives.
Payum circle of Siang district is being neglected since its establishment in 1956. There is no proper road connectivity and other basic amenities available in the circle yet, despite the fact our land and forest were included under DDBRF and Mouling National Park, lamented the Union.
Due to absence of any other alternative, people of Payum circle are totally dependent on forest and its products as well as jhum cultivation.
