Aalo, Mar 1:  The West Siang District administration has banned the conduct of housie, lottery draws and other gambling activities in the district in exercise of the powers conferred u/s 133 of CrPC.
The prohibitory order was necessary as many individuals and few NGOs were selling lottery, housie tickets and many were reported to be  playing housie through cell phones in every nook and corner of the township area which tantamount to gambling activities, not mandated under the law. DIPRO
