Itanagar, Feb 2: A Free Health Camp for municipal labourers was organised today here at the Heema Hospital benefiting a total of 188.
Deputy Commissioner and Itanagar Municipal Council Administrator Komkar Dulom inaugurated the multispecialty camp and reminded the labourers to remain fit and healthy, both in body and mind so as to discharge duties well. “I shall try with several other hospitals of Capital Complex to organize such programme which is really a great work in the interest of the needy workers of the IMC,” Dulom said, adding that IMC needs to strengthen which is only possible if all stakeholders and denizens cooperate in making the state capital more beautiful. He further informed that several projects of solid waste management under Smart City project are also in the pipeline.
Heema Hospital Assistant Managing Director Dr. Byabang Heema informed that specialist doctors from all departments including Medicine, Gynaecology, ENT, Surgery, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics and Dermatology attended the camp and the beneficiaries besides undergoing medical examinations and check-ups were also given medicines. We really feel happy to serve these people who work tirelessly to collect garbage and keep the city clean and we also look forward to conduct more such camps in the greater interest of society, Dr. Heema added. Medical Superintendent Heema Hospital Dr. Kesang W. Thongdok exhorted the sanitary workers to take precautionary measures and wear protective gear to keep themselves free from infection in the course of their duties. Labourers were also provided with refreshments during the camp. Naharlaugn EAC and IMC EAC Ashok Tajo, senior medical officers, paramedical staff and local residents were present on the occasion.
