PASIGHAT, Aug 1: Incessant rain sweeping the Siang belt has continued to affect normal life with road communication the hardest hit.
Heavy rainfall has resulted in landslides in Lower Siang district blocking the road between Koyu and Kakki villages in Jukik area. With no respite from rain as of now, transportation services continue to remain temporarily suspended since last few weeks, hampering easy movement of students, patients, government employees and general public as a whole.
Meanwhile, EE(PWD) Nari Division, Joy Koyu has informed that they are coordinating with the district administration and the situation has been brought to the notice of the appropriate authorities. Despite fund constraint and inclement weather, two earthmovers have already been pressed into service along with adequate manpower and restoration work is underway to make the road communicable at the earliest, he added. dipro
