Naharlagun, Sep 25: Minister Health & Family Welfare Alo Libang has appealed the state's pharmacist community to rededicate themselves for the cause of human sufferings and development of the health sector in the state.
Libang was addressing on the occasion of World Pharmacist Day here at a city hotel today. He said that pharmacists were earlier known as compounders and play an important role in delivering the health care system. He assured all possible support of the state government and meet up their demand in a phased manner. He said in view of the growing demand for establishment of a College of Pharmacy, the proposal may be taken up for detailed study.
Director of Health M Lego in his address said that pharmacists are health care providers and they should do their work with sincerity. Director (ATI) and CoSAAP President Pate Marik, Director Family Welfare Dr. Alok Yirang, APPC Registrar Nangbia Tapin, APPC President Tsewang Gyatso were among others who addressed the gathering.
Earlier, the dignitaries visited Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) and took part in fruits distribution programme to mark the day.
