Deomali, Jun 7: Acting on specific intelligence inputs regarding movement of suspected insurgents here in the township, personnel from the Indian Army along with Arunachal Pradesh Police apprehended one hardcore  NSCN (IM) cadre on Saturday.
The apprehended cadre SS Pvt Lomben Shin (44 yrs) alleged to be involved in extortion activities from the locals is a resident of Lomlo in Tirap district.
 A 7.65 mm pistol, 7.65 mm live ammunition, suspected brown sugar weighing approx 5 gms, an extortion note, a mobile phone and Aadhar &  Election cards were recovered from him. 
According to the Tirap SP Cell, the insurgent group is facing a shortage of funds due the ongoing pandemic and is trying to carry out extortions from the locals.
The cadre has been handed over to the Deomali Police Station for further investigation and an FIR (Deomali PS C/No.06/2020) has been lodged and cases have been registered U/S 384/511 of IPC r/w Section 25(IB)(a) of Arms Act/Section 21(a) of NDPS Act and Section 10 of UA(P) Act. DIPRO
