ITANAGAR, Dec 21: Capital Superintendent of Police Tumme Amo and Joint Director-UD & Housing Er. Marconi Potom today jointly flagged off an ambulance donated by the Galo Youth Organization (GYO) here at the organisation’s office and also launched the Annual GYO Calendar.
Speaking on the occasion, Amo appreciated GYO for their gesture. “I have been informed that the ambulance is not only for the Galo community but also for anyone which is a laudable initiative,” SP stated.
Echoing the same, Potom said that with this noble initiative, needy people who cannot afford private ambulances can avail the service with very nominal charges.
“Since the inception of GYO, one of our major agenda was to provide an ambulance for society with all kinds of necessary facilities and today we are very happy that our dream has come true,” said President GYO, Bajom Tali. The ambulance will charge only fifty per cent of the market rates from users which will be used for its upkeep, added Tali.
Meanwhile, extending gratitude to the well-wishers who supported in procuring the ambulance, President GYO informed that the service has started from today itself and people can avail them through the Facebook page as they are yet to have a designated Helpline Number.
