Aalo, May 11: As a part of its Pan Arunachal Voluntary Blood Donation Programme, a three-day blood donation camp is being organized by the Galo Welfare Society (GWS) in commemoration of the first death anniversary of the former GWS President Dr. Minge Loyi from May 11-13 here at the General Hospital.
Around 40 people turned up to donate blood on the first day. Attending the function as GWS Aalo Unit Adviser, Kento Ete lauded the efforts for undertaking the noble cause marking the first death anniversary of a person who contributed immensely for the growth of Galo society. He also appealed the youths to take lockdown seriously in the wake of relaxations and inter-district movements of people. Secretary GWS Aalo Unit, Nyage Loya spelt out the prime objective behind organising the programme and DMO Dr. Moli Riba said that the collected blood will be preserved in the safest way in Aalo General Hospital blood bank.
Medical Superintendent Dr. Linya Lollen said blood is given free of cost to the needy patients. The Mobilising Chairman extended gratitude to GSU, GYO, PAYWA and AASU for cooperating and making the programme successful. A one-minute silence was observed as a mark of respect to the departed soul. DIPRO
