ITANAGAR, May 14:

Reiterating its demands for immediate conduct of proposed general meeting and public hearing at both Koyu and Kora area, Galo Students Union (GSU) in a release has reminded the government about its representation earlier submitted to the Chairman of GoM, Kamlung Mossang and sought early submission of the committee findings to the State Government.

Clearing the confusion regarding the boundary issue of LSD, the GSU said that  “As per the Government notification vide 03/03/2014, Act No.2 of 2014 under The Arunachal Pradesh (Re-Organization of District ) (Amendment) Act, 2013 it is clear that Lower Siang District has been created based on constituency boundary demarcation of 36th Nari-Koyu Assembly Constituency, 28th Likabali Assembly Constituency and 29th Basar Assembly Constituency approved  by the then Chief Election Commission of India on 17th July 1989.

Also the feasibility report was submitted by the Deputy Commissioner Aalo vide No.us/Adm-42/2008 dated 27th Feb’2008 and again by the Deputy Commissioner Pasighat vide No.G-3524/22/3 dated 27th Feb’2009. Therefore no boundary confusion should arise here, claimed GSU.

The GSU also criticized the government for showing inefficiency in solving the long pending issue and stated that there is no question of forming committee again and again for already notified matter and by doing it the State Government is making a mockery of itself.

Further suggesting the visiting committee not to get distracted by any illogical demand made by some self interested vested people as only few days remain for the said public hearing, the GSU has cautioned the government that it would resort to rigorous democratic movement in Galo inhabited areas against the State Government in continuation to its 3rd phase bandh call.
