Itanagar, Feb 5: The Galo Students’ Union (GSU) will organise a peaceful sit-in dharna in the West Siang district headquarters Aalo on February 7 next as a mark of protest against the decision of the state government to shift the post of Executive Engineer (HQ) from Aalo with men & materials to the Raga PWD Division under Kamle district.
The said dharna will be of 3-hour duration from 9 am to 12 noon at Paktu (Nehru Chowk) under the chairmanship of Vice President (Protocol) Jumdak Taso and Vice Chairman Jomgum Ete. It can be recalled that the union has raised its objections regarding the above decision which has been officially notified Vide Order No. SPWD-013/2003-04 dated Itanagar, 23rd January 2020.
The other demands which will also form a part of the protest include completion of road from Akajan to Bam (Double Laying) under TAH, early completion of the Stadium at Aalo, operationalization of the Zonal General Hospital Aalo, expedition of process for establishment of Para Military Institute at Kombo and commencement of the SIRD Extension Training Centre at Darka.
