NAMSAI, Mar 31: The District Food and Civil Supply department, Namsai led by its DFCSO, CD Manchey and ASI- F&CS C Tuja Singpho under the supervision of District Administration distributed grocery items to at least 70 households amidst the lockdown.
According to the DFCSO, most of these families are daily wage earners and were given 5Kg of rice, half Kg pulses and a Kg of salt. Earlier, on March 30, Namsai Police also distributed essential food items to the daily wage earners.
Meanwhile, to avoid any movement of denizens during the lockdown and to mitigate the need of essential items, the district administration has initiated ‘Vegetables on Cart’ that will sell vegetables in 10 sectors of Namsai.
