PANGIN, Mar 23:A meeting of the District Executive Committee, Siang District was held on Thursday here under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Rahul Singh to scrutinise various cases of agricultural and horticultural crop losses,  livestock loss,  fire accident cases and other losses incurred due to natural calamities in the district. 

Stating that the committee plays a very significant and responsible role, the DC in his address urged all members to carefully assess each case so that assistance may be provided to the most genuine and needy cases on priority.  He also stressed on strict adherence to government guidelines in the grant of necessary assistance. 

After detailed scrutiny and deliberation on the basis of prescribed guidelines with active participation from all members, grant of assistance was finalized for many crop loss cases of farmers who suffered heavy damages due to torrential rainfall and floods and also for many fire accident cases and other damages. 

The meeting was attended by SP Siang Irak Bagra, DDMO In-charge Pebika Lego, DMO Dr. Rachel Darung, DDA Baleng Mengu, DHO Karyom Doji, EE WRD Nabam Ayung and RFO Gyato Noshi.
