DOLLUNGMUKH, Jul 3: Government of Arunachal Pradesh will view all aspect of public welfare, social security, social action plan, safety and security of people of Dollungmukh area before going for renewal of lease agreement for bombing zone at Dollungmukh in Kamle district, said Minister for Land Managing, Environment and Forest Nabam Rebia today.
Minister Rebia who visited the bombing zone and other parts of Dollungmukh area alongwith local MLA and Parliamentary Secretary Animal Husbandry, Veterinary and Dairy Development Tamar Murtem, Secretary Land Management SK Jain, Kamle district Deputy Commissioner Moki Loyi and other heads of department of district with local leaders, social workers and locals of the area.
The team also interacted with local residents, local leaders and local administrative officers of the area and listened to the problems faced by them during the bombing period and live bombing since 2017 onwards.
Later while attending a meeting with officials of Air force, district administration, local leaders, Rebia said in any case the safety and security of the local indigenous will not be compromised even if it is a project of national importance related with security.
Urging locals to cooperate, he also requested the air force official to formulate policy for creating more awareness about the bombing zone, schedule, timing of bombing with local address system ahead of bombing.
‘Shifting of the bombing zone cannot be done at the earliest and it is a matter between the state government and central government but before renewal of the agreement the state government will consider all aspect of the situation and concern of the locals of the area and keeping in view national security,’ Rebia said.
A report of this visit will be submitted to the Governor for his information and further action as governor has requested for the same, he added.
He suggested that the local administration and Kamle district administration need to get in touch with the air force officials for further communication so that no further loss of life and property is repeated in future.
Local MLA Tamar Murtem while addressing the grievances of the locals, expressed his concern for the safety and security of life and properly of locals residing in 9 villages in the vicinity of the bombing zone and called for action at the earliest before any more accident repeats again.
A memorandum have been submitted signed by former PRI leaders, locals leaders, GBs, students leaders demanding immediate shifting of live bombing and shifting of firing range, immediate demarcation of Arunachal Pradesh-Assam boundary at Dollungmukh.
