ITANAGAR, Oct 4: The Confederation of Service Associations of Arunachal Pradesh (CoSAAP) has announced to launch a phase wise pen & tools down agitation throughout the state starting from October 11 to press for acceptance of its demands.
“The first phase will be followed by 4-day long protest from October 23 to26 and indefinite strike from November 8, if the government fails to address our demands within the stipulated time,” stated CoSAAP President, Pate Marik.
Speaking to media persons here today, Marik said, “we are compelled to take up the democratic movement due to the irresponsive attitude of the government towards our demands”.
He said their demands, which related to allowances for government employees such as house rent, tough location allowance, TA/DA rules, non-practising allowances and children education, etc, have been neglected for a long time.
Over the Issue of compulsory NOC (No objection certificate) for promotion, MACP, and Deputation & Retirement of government employees, Marik reiterated that the rule should be made mandatory for all citizens without categorization and targeting only Govt. employees or otherwise it must be withdrawn completely.
Marik said that the concerned authority must list out, then verify and punish those who encroached government properties individually but without harassing other innocent employees.
