PASIGHAT, May 4: A government employee has been arrested by police on Monday for involvement in drug peddling.
One Debojit Baruah, a contingency staff at Veterinary Training Institute, Pasighat was arrested by police after team WASE lodged an FIR against him after finding him cultivating Ganja in his government quarter and selling it to minors.
According to WASE General Secretary, Joya Tasung Moyong, two minors were seen by members of WASE while buying ganja from Baruah and accordingly the team made a surprise checking to his compound and found open cultivation of Ganja in his government quarter compound. Meanwhile, WASE has appealed all section of society, including government employees not to indulge in drug peddling and its cultivation directly or indirectly. Perpetrators won’t be tolerated, it said.
