Itanagar, Jan 30: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Power and New & Renewable Energy and Minister of State for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship R.K. Singh today called on Governor Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd) here at Raj Bhavan to discuss topics relating to harnessing of Arunachal’s hydropower potential and increase of skill development training facilities in the state.
Governor opined that exploiting the full hydropower potential of the state will also benefit the nation as a whole. He further underscored the need for having solar energy projects in far-flung locations in state which will promote living amenities of the people there and arrest inward migration from border areas to cities. He requested the Union Minister to set up more skill development and entrepreneurship centres in Arunachal Pradesh to encourage entrepreneurship and self-employment amongst state’s youths through a mix of innovative methods and traditional expertise in arts and crafts. Responding to the request, the Union Minister agreed to provide necessary assistance to Arunachal for promoting new ventures in power and new & renewable energy and skill development & entrepreneurship sectors.
