Itanagar, Mar 27: President of India Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu on Friday participated in a video conference with the Governors, Lt. Governor and Administrators of all states and UTs to discuss the current situation prevailing in the country in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic.
Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd,) participated in the conference, wherein it was suggested by both the President and the Vice President to involve the Red Cross Societies, religious groups, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and private sector business houses in the concerted fight against Covid-19. They also suggested to undertake regular follow-up measures in boosting the combat efforts. Conveying the President’s and VP’s suggestions, Governor has appealed the state’s NGOs, particularly the community and religious based organizations and the State Red Cross Society to create awareness amongst common people about the virus and take all prophylactic measures in checking its spread. While advising all to maintain social distancing, he reiterated the need to avoid public gatherings and take all precautionary measures and also suggested bringing out the Covid-19 literature in vernacular languages. 
Governor said he will be taking up the issue of crunch of testing kits and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) faced by Arunachal with the Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan. PRO Raj Bhavan
