ITANAGAR, Aug 21: Minister for Rural Works Department Honchun today called on the Governor of the state Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.)  here at Raj Bhavan and apprised him about the construction status of the much talked about Miao-Vijoynagar road in Changlang district.
Discussing about the national importance of this road, the duo also exchanged thoughts about the need of roads for people located in far flung areas on the international border with Myanmar. It was appreciated that with the construction of this road there will also be substantial care and improvement of flora and fauna in Namdapha National Park and effective surveillance and control on poaching activity, if any, in the area. They also discussed that corridors for free movement of animals within the park should be fully protected. It was also highlighted that like other National Parks of the country viz. Kaziranga National Park, Corbett National Park, Madu Malai National Park, Bandipur National Park and many others, careful and controlled movement of vehicles will become complimentary to the upkeep of wildlife.
History of the Miao-Vijoynagar road also featured during discussion and both the RWD Minister and Governor agreed on the need for speedy completion of this project preferably by the end of the current financial year for public interest and as well as national security. PRO Raj Bhavan
