ITANAGAR, Nov 17: On the occasion of the National Press Day, Governor Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) and State Legislative Assembly Speaker Pasang D Sona have extended their warm greetings to the members of the entire Press fraternity of Arunachal Pradesh comprising the print, press and electronic media.
Governor in his message expressed hope that the occasion will inspire every journalist and all others associated with the Press which is also known as the ‘Fourth Pillar’ and ‘Watchdog’ of democracy to maintain highest standards of constructive news reporting. He reminded that while the press and journalists enjoy certain privileges like easy access to the corridors of power, these privileges equally brings  responsibilities on them to be independent, objective and non-partisan.
On the occasion of the National Press Day, I appeal to all my patriotic members of the media fraternity to be partners in the developmental process of the state, Governor’s message read.
Assembly Speaker Pasang D Sona  while conveying greetings stated that media persons in the state work tirelessly to keep people informed and create opinions through their writings & reports despite facing numerous hurdles.
