ITANAGAR, Oct 17: Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) today inaugurated the 2-day State Level Workshop for Government School Elementary Teachers under Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan (RAA), organised by the State Education Department, following Samagra Shiksha in collaboration with UNISED (Unit of Science and Educational Development) here at Dorjee Khandu Auditorium of the Legislative Assembly.
The workshop is being attended by elementary teachers and students of the selected schools for RAA activities. One hundred schools have been selected under Samagra Shiksha for Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan in which science and mathematics leaning recourse kits, including low cost solar based e-learning equipment will be provided. In his inaugural address, Governor said that science and technology are the major driving forces in the development of any society and RAA aims to encourage the young minds towards scientific understanding and innovation and exhorted the students and teachers to cultivate the spirit of progressive learning. He further suggested that RAA is an important mission that will have a positive and long lasting impact on the populace and must be taken up under Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode. 
First Lady of the State Neelam Misra, State Education Minister Er. Taba Tedir, Education Secretary cum State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha Niharika Rai, Deputy State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha, Nangram Pingkap, National Programme Advisor, RAA Avaneesh and Programme Director, RAA, UNISED, Javed Ali Khan participated in the function.
