Rono Hills, Sep 30: Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd) today inaugurated the new auditorium building of Rajiv Gandhi University here at its campus.
Constructed at a cost of Rs. 10.21 crore and funded by DoNER, the facility at present will house the Fine Art Department of the university.Interacting with the faculty and students, Governor advised them for maximum utilization of the facility. The Governor, who is also the Chief Rector of RGU and Brand Ambassador of Swachh Bharat Mission emphasised that the new auditorium must be given proper upkeep.
Earlier, on his arrival, he paid tributes to the ‘Wall of Heroes’, which is an initiative of the Vidya Veerta Abhiyan under the aegis of the Ministry of Human Resource Development for paying homage to the war heroes decorated with ‘Param Vir Chakra’ gallantry award. The portraits of 21 war heroes were handed over to the RGU in a distribution ceremony at National Media Centre, New Delhi by the MoHRD. RGU is one of the first central universities in the Northeast to dedicate such display in the best spirit of nationalism.
