Itanagar, Jun 26: Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) today visited the lone sports institute of the state, the Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy (SLSA) here at Chimpu and had an interaction with the practising archers.
Governor saw the practice session of the archers, who had represented Arunachal Pradesh and India in various levels of competitions and spoke to the officials, coaches, instructors and teachers of the institute. Advising the students to enhance their capabilities, Governor exhorted them on putting hard work and avail the facilities provided by the institute. He also asked the coaches, instructors and teachers to groom the students in best possible ways. Pleased by the cheerfulness, smartness and enthusiasm of the students, Governor announced that he will try to have another Sports Academy in the state. Immensely impressed with the Wushu demonstration by the students he said that girls in the academy are not only capable of defending themselves but also others in the society.
Principal of the academy Komen Zirdo mentioned certain problems and difficulties they are facing, hearing which the Governor asked him to prioritize them and discuss with him besides assuring all possible help. Secretary, Sports and Youth Affairs, Dani Salu also briefed the Governor about the institution and its challenges. 
Governor was accompanied by First Lady Neelam Misra, Director Sports, Tadar Appa and Director Youth Affairs D.K. Dinglow along with officials. PRO Raj Bhavan
