ITANAGAR, Jul 4: Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.) has greeted the people of the state in particular the Apatani community on the auspicious occasion of Dree. He wished that the warmth and splendour, which have always been an important part of the auspicious occasion, usher in happiness and prosperity for everyone in our fold.
In his message to the people, the Governor said that the Dree festival, which is an agricultural rite, highlights the Apatani Tribe’s vibrant culture and traditions. It is a unique socio-cultural identity of the Apatani people. It reinforces the laudable composite context of our multi tribe, multi cluster society. I appeal to the informed elders and enthusiastic youth of the community to promote pride in their ethnicity and customs and preserve it for the posterity, he said.
On this auspicious occasion, I offer my prayers to Danyi Piillo to invoke the Dree spirit amongst the people for the well being of the mankind, the Governor said in his message. PRO Rajbhavan
