Rono Hills, Jan 16: Governor Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) participated in ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ programme of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) here at the Rajiv Gandhi University campus today.
600 cadets from four states namely Arunachal Pradesh and Assam from Northeast and Andhra Pradesh and Telangana from South along with 4 officers and 40 instructors participated in the camp.
Exhorting the cadets to imbibe the ‘Nation first’ spirit and strive towards defending the sovereignty, territorial integrity and social unity of the nation, Governor advised them to think positive and shun violence and dharnas. Impressed by the cadets’ Pan-India spirit, he emphasised on living up to their motto of ‘Unity and Discipline’ and becoming model citizens.
Recalling the repeated attacks on India from Pakistan and China, Governor mentioned that the country now has the strong leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi which had been reflected during Doklam standoff and the surgical strikes against terrorist camps in PoK & Balakot. The cadets, who are our future leaders must imbibe the mission to defend the country at all cost, he stressed. Governor presented awards to the best cadets in different categories of competitions conducted during the camp. Earlier, the cadets gave a colourful cultural presentation showcasing the cultural mosaic of the Northeast and Southern regions of the country.
The 12-day Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, a national level NCC Camp which started on January 6 was conducted by 1 Arunachal Pradesh Battalion NCC Naharlagun under the aegis of Tezpur NCC Group. PRO Raj Bhavan
