ITANAGAR, Jul 12:Governor Brig. (Dr.) BD Mishra (Retd.) emphasised that the councillors of Municipal Councils should take initiative and necessary action for maintaining utmost cleanliness in the residential areas as well as in public places.

He said this while interacting with a delegation led by Councillor, Ward No 18, Gora Lotak, who called at Raj Bhawan today.

The Governor said that as Raj Bhavan is located in Ward No. 18, it must be a model Ward in cleanliness. It should be the Ward sending out messages of “Swachhta / Cleanliness’ to the people of the capital city and the State. The healthy environment and recreation facilities, like Raj Bhavan Parks, must be maintained and utilized in correct manner, he added.

The Governor also called upon the Councillors and the Ward members of Municipal Councils to be motivated and assist in sending every child above the age of six years to school in their respective wards. He emphasised that in order to achieve 100% literacy, every child of today must go to school.
