ITANAGAR, Jul 19: Deputy Director General Recruitment (North East Zone) Brig Vinay Mohan Sharma today called on the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) here at Raj Bhavan to discuss the ways and means of streamlining the army recruitment procedure in the state.
Besides discussing about optimising recruitment from the state, the duo also discussed about simplification of procedures so that maximum number of youths of Arunachal can join the Indian Army. Governor emphasized that initiative must be taken by the state government, particularly the Deputy Commissioners to reach out to the youths in far-off flung areas and encourage them through awareness campaigns to participate in the Army Recruitment Rallies. Interested youths must know the procedures and details of physical fitness tests in the recruitment process which will help them in preparation to meet the required benchmarks, he added. Indian Army Units stationed at various locations of the state, at the request of the Governor, assisted many youths to join the armed forces in the past through boarding, lodging, filling up of recruitment forms etc. The DDGR (NEZ) briefed the Governor about the challenges in the recruitment process.
