ITANAGAR, Apr 9:Governor BD Mishra today held a meeting with Lt. Gen. Gopal R, AVSM,SM, GOC 3 Corps, Dimapur, accompanied by  Maj. Gen. Bhaskar Kalita, YSM GOC 56 Infantry Division and Col. Sakeet regarding land acquisition for the army.

The Governor stressed that the security of the nation is of prime importance and has to be given top priority.  Arunachal is strategically located and has vulnerable borders and our fellow Arunachali citizens are well aware of this, he said.

He instructed the Secretary (Land Management), SK Jain to resolve the issue of the army field firing ranges and make comprehensive plans so that it can be presented to and expeditiously approved by the state.

‘We the Arunachali, should support the cause of army firing training and for that reasonable land compensation system should be given due thought of,’ said the Governor.

The Governor and the GOC also discussed other matters of importance regarding the security of our border.

The GOC also briefed the Governor regarding the dedicated welfare measures which his troops are providing to the civil population in his area of responsibility.

SK Jain IAS, Secy (LM) and Omkar Singh IFS, PCCF cum Principal Secy. (E&F) assured the GOC 3 Corps that they would provide all help and support for early solution for the field firing range problems of his troops.
