ITANAGAR, May 9:Governor PB Acharya has congratulated the ‘Team Itanagar’ for its cleanliness drive thereby raising the rank of Itanagar from being the third dirtiest city in the year 2016 to 216^th in Clean City across the country in the year 2017 as per the Swachh Survekshan-2017 ranking.

The Governor applauded the team led by Chief Minister Pema Khandu including Chief Secretary Shakuntala Gamlin, Capital Complex Deputy Commissioner Prince Dhawan, Chief Councilor Itanagar Municipal Council Kipa Kaku and denizens of Itanagar-Naharlagun for their extensive effort in cleanliness drive throughout the city

The Governor, who is the one of Nav Ratna (Nine Gems) for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan emphasized that sincere efforts are required to make Itanagar Open Defecation Free (OPF) with the involvement of citizens, trade associations, NGOs and students in collaboration with District Administration.
