Guwahati, Sep 7: Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) arrived at Guwahati on Saturday to participate in the 68th Plenary of the North Eastern Council (NEC), which will be held here at the Assam Administrative Staff College from September 8.
Accompanied by Chief Minister Pema Khandu, the Governor will be raising issues related to Arunachal’s infrastructure development, health & education, skill development, road & air communication, policing improvement needs, insurgency and anti-national activities etc. in this vital meeting.
The two-day plenary will be chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is also the Chairman of NEC. Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) and Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region-cum-Vice Chairman NEC, Jitendra Singh, Governors and Chief Ministers of all Northeastern states, senior officials from Central and State governments will be attending the plenary.
Deliberations on the progress of on-going projects, outlays by Central Ministries for Northeast Region and plans for the coming years are expected to be the highlights of the meeting. PRO Raj Bhavan
