ITANAGAR, May 9: Governor PB Acharya and Chief Minister Pema Khandu have greeted the people of the State and the Buddhist community in particular on the auspicious occasion of Buddha Purnima.

In his message, the Governor expressed hope that the occasion will spread Lord Buddha’s message of love, peace and compassion. The Governor appealed to all to follow the eight noble paths and rise above the materialistic world. He exhorted all to strengthen brotherhood and fellowship amongst the different tribes of Arunachal Pradesh.

On this sacred occasion, I offer my prayers to Lord Buddha to bless each one of us with his choicest blessing, the Governor said.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pema Khandu in his message, called upon the people to follow the principles preached by Buddha to lead a moral life, to be mindful and aware of thoughts and actions and develop wisdom and understanding.

He reminded the principles of four noble truth of Buddha which signifies and brings the essence of life in every individual—Suffering, cause of suffering, how to overcome suffering and end of suffering by following the 8 noble paths.

On the pious occasion, CM prayed Lord Buddha to bless each sentient being with compassion, love, brotherhood and human values so that the world becomes one big family which has no room for hatred, enmity and negativity.
