ITANAGAR,Apr 4: Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) and Chief Minister Pema Khandu have extended greetings to the people of the state on the auspicious occasion of Mopin festival.
The Governor in his message said that Mopin being one of the most popular festivals of Arunachal Pradesh showcases the state’s rich cultural heritage. “The festival is observed as a prayer to Goddess of Prosperity, i.e. Mopin. I trust, the celebration shall usher in prosperity and a good harvest in our society. On this joyous occasion, I join my Galo brethren in offering our prayers to Anyi Pinku Pinte to bestow each one of us with her choicest blessings,” the Governor wished in his message.
Chief Minister while extending his greetings said,“I wish my Galo brothers and sisters on the joyous occasion of Mopin that marks the beginning of the spring season, a symbol of peace and joy. I join you all on this joyous occasion with great zeal and enthusiasm.”
“Let’s all join this festival of white, symbolizing peace and prosperity, with our Galo brethrens and express our gratitude to them for their contributions in the progress of our state,” Khandu added.
Meanwhile, games & sports and cultural extravaganza showcasing rich culture and folklores marked the celebration of Mopin festival at Gumin Kiin in West Siang from March 30 to April 4.
