ITANAGAR, Jul 20: Chief Minister Pema Khandu today called on the Governor of the state Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) here at Raj Bhavan and briefed him about the meetings he had with various Central Ministers regarding the developmental plans in Arunachal Pradesh.
Forthcoming 68th Plenary of North Eastern Council (NEC) scheduled to be held at Guwahati on August 3 & 4 next and the issues to be placed by the state in this event were discussed at length by the duo. Governor emphasized that the state must use this forum for projecting and finalizing all the requisite developmental plans.
Additionally, various developmental programmes and ongoing projects in the state along with fast-tracking of the Miao-Vijoynagar road project featured in the discussion. Governor mooted the need for a concerted effort in strengthening the institutions taking care of the destitutes, orphans and differently abled children. Issues such as planning for the next academic session of Sainik School, Niglok in East Siang district and functioning of Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission were also discussed.
