ITANAGAR, Feb 14: Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) and Chief Minister Pema Khandu have conveyed  warm greetings to the people of the state on the auspicious occasion of ‘Tamla Du’.
Governor expressed hope that the festival will continue to facilitate the preservation of the age old indigenous beliefs and cultural ethos of the Mishmi community.
In his message, the Governor said that during Tamla Du festival, the community offers prayers to the God of Water and God of Earth to save our villages from natural calamities. They worship the Almighty for the welfare of the people, domestic animals, and the newly planted crops. Let us also resolve on this fortunate occasion to protect our natural surroundings, environment, the rich flora and fauna and preserve Mother Earth which sustains us, the Governor said.
 "On the auspicious occasion of Tamla Du, I convey my warm greetings and good wishes to all my Mishmi brothers and sisters,"  Chief Minister Pema Khandu said in his message.
“May almighty Matai Jabmalo bestow blessings on the people for peace and prosperity. I pray to the Almighty for collective good and spiritual well-being of the people,” he added.
The Chief Minister also called on the Mishmi community to stand united against the menace of drug and opium addiction and guide society to the path of prosperity and development. Raj Bhawan PRO & CMO
