ITANAGAR, Dec 21: Governor BD Mishra chaired the first meeting of newly nominated nine Swachhta Preraks (Mission Motivators) of Swachh Bharat Mission (SBA), Arunachal Pradesh at Raj Bhavan here today. The Governor also reviewed the efficacy of SBA in the State with the stakeholders on the occasion and discussed on ways and means to make it more successful.
The Governor exhorted the Swachhta Preraks to work with personal dedication and interest to bring the change in the mindset of the people towards cleanliness. He said that nobody took ‘Swachhta’ seriously till a few years back, but on the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it has become a mass movement and result is now being seen in the villages, towns and cities.  
The Governor asked the Swachhta Preraks to try out innovative ideas and make the mission effectively wide spread. He wanted them to suggest and develop a ‘roadmap’ for cleaner, healthier and greener Arunachal.
Reposing his trust in the Swachhta Preraks particularly State Education Minister, who is connected to three lakh school children of the State, the Governor said that with perseverance and individual involvement, ‘Swachh Arunachal’ can become an early reality.
The Swachhta Preraks shared their actions and experiences towards the ongoing Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.   
Earlier, Commissioner PHED Marnya Ete, Secretary Urban Development S.K. Jain, Special Secretary Education Rahul Singh and Additional Secretary Art and Culture Opak Gao briefed the Governor and the Swachta Preraks about various schemes and projects taken up under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
The nine newly nominated Swachhta Preraks are State Education Minister Honchun Ngandam, Chief Information Commissioner Dr. Joram Begi, Sahitya Akademi Awardee and Former Chief Information Commissioner Yeshe Dorjee Thongchi, State Election Commissioner Hage Kojeen, Rajiv Gandhi University Vice Chancellor Prof. Saket Kushwaha, National Institute of Technology Director Prof. Pinakeswar Mahanta, NERIST Director Prof. H.S. Yadav, TRIHMS Director Dr. Moji Jini and Ramakrishna Mission Hospital Secretary Swami Vishweshananda.
