Naharlagun, Feb 2: The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) attended the ‘Vidyapati Parav Samaroh’, organised by Purvanchal Sanskriti Vikash Samiti, at Naharlagun on 2nd February 2019. Vidyapati Parv Samaroh aims to celebrate the work and life of Mahakavi Vidyapati and create consciousness about his literature and ideals amongst the younger generation.
Addressing the people on the occasion, the Governor commended the people of Purvanchal for organising the programme, which he said will help in preserving their rich cultural heritage. Recalling the contribution of Mahakavi Vidyapati, Maithili poet and a Sanskrit writer, in propagation of indigenous language, he called the people to be in touch with their roots, traditions and customs.

While appreciating the Purvanchal Sanskriti Vikash Samiti for their initiatives, the Governor said that their endeavour reflects their commitment towards the progress of the people of Arunachal Pradesh and development of the State. He urged them to contribute towards the development of the Nation, State and society which will also result in their own prosperity.

Vice Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University, Rono Hills, Prof. Saket Kushwaha, Director NERIST Prof. H.S. Yadav and President, Purnanchal Sanskriti Vikash Samiti, Shri Ajay Ranjan Maharaj also spoke on the occasion.
School students from different schools of the Capital Complex presented a cultural item, ‘Jai Jai Bhairva-Vidyapati’ on the occasion. PRO
