SEPPA, Jan 24: Curtains came down on the two week long  4th State Level Under 18  Hangpan Dada Memorial Football  & Volleyball (Boys and Girls) Trophy  here at General Ground, Seppa that started on January 13 last.
Attending the closing ceremony as chief guest, Governor Dr. BD Mishra appreciated the District administration and organizing committee for successfully conducting the mega sports event. He lauded the players from different districts for maintaining sportsmanship spirit during the whole tournament. “I am happy to know that girls from different districts have participated with much enthusiasm.”
Governor congratulated the winners and was impressed by the enthusiastic participation, particularly the girls and advised all to work hard and excel in the next edition of the tournament named after the brave son of the soil, Havaldar Hangpan Dada, Ashok Chakra (Posthumous). He paid floral tribute to Havaldar Hangpan Dada on the occasion, saying that by instituting and conducting the tournament in his name, the state has expressed its pride for his gallantry in the defence of the nation.
 Sharing his experience of Kashmir Valley 40 years earlier where Hav. Dada fought bravely against terrorists, Governor said that the location is very tough and his sacrifice will always inspire the youths of Arunachal. Addressing the large gathering of youths, he called upon them to be progressive minded and stand on their own through entrepreneurship and appealed them to avoid drugs, gun-culture and destructive attitude.   
Speaking on the occasion, Sports & Youth Affairs Minister Mama Natung also extended gratitude to the district administration, organizing committee, NGOs and other organizations for the successful event. While elaborating about the tournament, he informed that the state government will constitute a committee to select the best players from such mega sports events to represent Arunachal Pradesh at national and international events. “Our government under the leadership of CM Pema Khandu is keen to support youths as they are the future of the state and so we are giving due importance to sports as well as all other activities that will help them grow and shine.”

Governor gave away prizes to the winners and runner-up teams. In football (Boys), Upper Subansiri won the champions trophy, while Anjaw district came out runner-up. Kulin Raji of Upper Subansiri received the best player cash award in Football (Boys). In Football (Girls), Capital Complex received the champions trophy, while Lower Subansiri received the runner-up trophy. Giani Ramching of Capital Complex received the best player cash award in Football (Girls).
In Volleyball (Boys) Capital Complex emerged champions, while Papum Pare received the runner-up trophy. Yukar Tadum of Capital Complex received the best player cash award in Volleyball (Boys). In Volleyball (Girls) Lower Subansiri received the champions trophy, while Capital Complex received the runner-up trophy. Mosing Yanang of Capital Complex received the best player cash award in volleyball (Girls).
1283 youths and 78 officials participated in the tournament conducted by the Directorate of Sports in collaboration with the East Kameng DA. With PRO Raj Bhavan inputs
