Banderdewa, Nov 8: Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd) today attended the 47th Raising Day celebration of Arunachal Pradesh Police here at the Police Training Centre.
Governor inspected the Raising Day Parade which had Vajra, the Anti-Riot Control Vehicle and Anti-Riot Bulletproof vehicles as parts of the contingent and took salute. In his address, he said that as common people have high expectations from police, they must rise to the occasion and deliver the optimum, also adding that they must be prepared for posting in any place as an obligation to duty. While stressing on recruitment based on merit, Governor said that state government will continue its steps for welfare of the police personnel and betterment of its infrastructure. Sharing his experiences in security management, he advised the officers and APP personnel to keep their eyes and ears open and always ensure impartial and proper investigation and extend help to every individual in need without any discrimination. Sharing his concern about drug addiction among youths, Governor emphasised on ‘zero tolerance towards drug abuse’ and exhorted the force to undertake special drive against it.
PTC Brass Band received his commendation for their overall excellent display in parade.
On the occasion, Governor also presented the Indian Police Medal to DIGP (Hq) Kime Kaming, Jeevan Raksha Padak Medals to Inspector Padi Paying & Inspector Abraham Taying and Union Home Minister’s Medals for excellence in Police Training to Head Constable Talin Motu & Constable Tsering Tashi. ‘Best Parade Contingent’ of 47th Raising Day Parade went to 2nd IR Bn, Dayun.
Earlier, Governor laid wreath at the ‘Martyrs Memorial’. Exhibition stalls displayed by various branches of APP, including Arms Display, Road Safety & Traffic, Wireless Telecommunication, State Disaster Response Forces, Fire & Emergency Services, Anti Sabotage & Security, Anti-Riot Equipment and Arunachal Pradesh Police & Housing Welfare Corporation Ltd were inaugurated by him.
