ITANAGAR, Sep 20: Minister of State for Railways, Suresh C. Angadi called on the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.d. Mishra (Retd.) at Raj Bhavan today. They discussed about strengthening the railway network in the State and also expedite the ongoing railway projects in Arunachal Pradesh.
The Governor urged upon the Railways Minister to expedite the sanctioned Railway projects for Arunachal Pradesh, while citing the new broad gauge strategic lines including Murkongselek-Pasighat BG Line and Missamari – Tawang BG Line. He said that these projects will have huge favourable economic impact and also instil a sense of security amongst the local people. It will boost tourism and facilitate in exporting organic produce of Arunachal Pradesh.
The Governor, who has many times travelled by Shatabdi Train, requested the Minister of State for changing the time of departure from 5.00 am to 7.00 am. He also requested the minister to increase the frequency of Inter-City Train service on the Naharlagun-Guwahati route by running it daily.
For ameliorating the difficulties of common citizens, the Governor also requested for increase of quota in seat reservation for trains originating from Naharlagun and terminating at Naharlagum Railway Station to help the people to get berths in the trains in emergency.
MoS Railways assured the Governor to personally intervene in the matter and accelerate the pace of rail projects implementation. PRO Rajbhavan
